Our Mission - Wellness to World Cup

We share the wellness to world cup philosophy of the Canadian Soccer Association believing better access to soccer programs and facilities translates into better health for all individuals in our community as well as enhanced opportunities for the development of the sport.

Soccer is the one sport in Canada that has a growing registration among youth; we are eager to provide the facilities needed to meet this need in our community. As childhood obesity rates continue to soar and youth at risk issues mount, we are serious about investing in the game of soccer for the good of our community and our future.

As interest in soccer grows across Canada, our vision is to provide world-class facilities and programs in the Calgary community beginning with a $13 million project to transform the natural grass fields at the SUBWAY Soccer Centre into high quality artificial turf fields. The Fields For Life Campaign gives donors, sponsors and government the opportunity to contribute to building world-class facilities to meet local interest in sport.

“The significance of sport to improving health levels has implications for government policies and programs. The cost to government of supporting sport is small in comparison to health spending due to inactivity.”
