Donors
The Fields For Life Campaign volunteers and the staff and volunteers of the Calgary Soccer Federation and its member associations as well as the SUBWAY Soccer Centre are grateful for the support and generosity of our donors, sponsors and partners.
Together we are building fields for life that will make a long-term difference in our community.
Recent Contributions
In November of 2009 the Fields For Life Campaign received a grant of $4.5 million from the City of Calgary to ensure Calgarians will have access to urgently needed, high quality sport fields by summer of 2010. “The City’s support will directly impact the quality of our soccer programs and facilities and the health and quality of life of our community,” says Michael Garland, Chairman of the Calgary Soccer Federation’s Artificial Turf Committee.
“With the City of Calgary support we will build three artificial turf fields to keep pace with the incredible growth of sport in Calgary. These fields will also be used by those involved in high school athletics, lacrosse, ultimate frisbee and many other sports,” says Sharon Evens, Chair of the Fundraising Committee.
The provincial government has also demonstrated support for the project with a grant of $325,000.
“We appreciate this early support from our government partners and look forward to more discussions with all levels of government regarding how they can help improve field sport facilities in Calgary,” says Garland.
We also want to recognize the leadership and generosity of the members of the three major soccer associations supporting this project with a contribution of $1 million: Calgary United Soccer Association, Calgary Minor Soccer Association and the Calgary Women’s Soccer Association.
